Manu 'Ō'ō Vneck Tops

The Manu 'Ō'ō was glossy black with yellowish tufts and plumes. It was valued by Hawaiians for its golden feathers, which were used to make feather capes, helmets and other ornaments for the ali'i. Bird catchers would smear sticky sap on the branches of the Ohi'a and when an 'Ō'ō landed on the sap it would be held fast in the sticky trap. The feathers were then carefully plucked, only removing a few at a time and then the bird was released unharmed. The Manu 'Ō'ō is now believed to be extinct, with it's last known sighting in 1934 on the slopes of Mauna Loa.

Our Nā Mākua Tops feature our new Manu 'Ō'ō design printed on the front and our Nā Mākua Logo on the back collar with printing on both sleeves. They are 100% pre-shrunk combed cotton jersey knit and are available in size Small thru 3XL. # OOVTB
