Ulu Racerback Tank Tops
Ulu or breadfruit, was one of the few plants the early Polynesians brought with them to Hawai'i. It provided everything the Hawaiian's needed to survive. Ulu had many uses, the wood was utilized for poi boards, the young buds were used as medicine and the sticky sap was used to capture the colorful native birds for their feathers, and of course Ulu was also a main food source.
There is a legend about the Hawaiian war god Kuka'ilimoku. During a time of famine, he buried himself in the ground to emerge again as an ulu tree. "Eat some, feed our kids," he told his wife and thus saved his family from starvation. It's immense usefulness to Hawaiians have made it an immortal symbol of Hawai'i.
